On this page you’ll find Seedsound albums released in 2007 and earlier.
Deeply textured mellow tones and delicately placed sampling are beautifully intertwined on this latest release from Seedsound artist – Observation Point. After a fast, busy summer with quiet activity here on the label, we know this offering will be well met… glide down into Autumn with the graceful sounds of “Nobody Here.”

THOUGHT PATHS VOL. 3
we’re delighted to bring you vol. 3 of Thought Paths, from the UK’s own Observation Point. some of the deepest, personal, and introspective soundscapes from this artist yet. if volumes 1 and 2 were departures from the more beat-oriented sound structures common here on seedsound and even to Observation Point himself, vol. 3 certainly takes that idea even further and deeper into a very wintery meditation and feeling. this is true ambient music – carefully layered to create a world with undertones and overtones of thoughts and ideas – which at moments is like a dialog of the mind with itself.
seedsound’s first mix release! a 74 minute set of original material produced for the Earthdance celebration in Colorado, usa, covering genres from techno to blip-hop, glitchy ‘idm’ to tribally electro-house rhythms and break-beatiness.
DUB BY NUMBERS
sometimes running out of disk space can be a good thing. i stumbled across these 3 tracks looking for what i could delete or archive, and realized these may be the only surviving record of some dubby sounds i was making for a party in february ‘06. they got played out but nearly forgotten. here are some cleaned up versions… hope you enjoy!
THOUGHT PATHS VOL. 2
Observation Point returns with a much anticipated sequel to the thought provoking debut (Vol.1) here on seedsound. the same great sensibilities and inspiration surround this release as with the first. enjoy!
THOUGHT PATHS VOL. 1
‘Thought Paths Vol.1′ is the latest platter from ambient sound artist, Observation Point. OP’s music and sounds are inspired by the surroundings and atmospheres of Port Talbot, South Wales. Abandoned buildings, decaying industry, looming hillsides and deserted beaches provide the backdrop to deep space collages and dark experiments. ‘TP1′ is part of a series of ideas, which mark a departure from some of the rhythmic structures of the past.
Magnetic Assassin returns with another Seedsound release after a slight hiatus… he’s been honing his production skills and turns out a two-track EP that we think you’ll dig. He writes:
“Pure Sunshine” came about when my roommate, who is a badass West African drum player, talked about wanting to hear a song made from a cat purring. Thus, a sample of Derrick Jensen’s cat and some West African disco beats ended up in a track with a woman reminiscing about the first time she tripped with the CIA during their MK-Ultra experiments. For some reason, that struck me as the perfect vocal to go into an upbeat party jam.
“Kinetics” was originally created using shareware programs Fastracker and Stomper back in 1996, then reworked with a sample from “In Yer Face” by 808 State (from the EX:EL album) for 2006. Big ups to Sporadik for rescuing the original off the hard drive at the Funny Farm, and to 808 State for giving permission to sample them.
the banjo consorsium
seed014 (no longer available for download)
nostalgic, thoughtful, and unique. a mixture of classic folk-tale sounds and modern beats, the banjo consorsium’s “le debut” is a refreshing addition to the seedsound library: it is haunting and almost desparate at times… searching for a path through something uncharted and innocent, while maintaining a mature precision in a production that is truly personal.
